Where Jarjarbynx Came From
Look. I don't usually bother with the details of how I put these things together. I get an idea for combining two silly things into something even sillier, and I do it, and that's pretty much all there is to it. Okay? But there's something special about this one. Let me explain...
The hype and marketing over Pokémon is really annoying. The hype and marketing over Phantom Menace was really annoying. And the character of Jar Jar Binks is incredibly annoying. So I thought of doing Jar Jar as a Pokémon.
It was while I was doing "research" about Pokémon that I read the blurb for the first Pokémon movie, which is about cloned Pokémon attacking the originals. "Golly gee whiz," I thought to myself, "the Clone Wars!"
Finding a picture of Jar Jar was easy. The official Star Wars website had one perfect for my needs. (And there are a variety of "Jar Jar Must Die!" fan websites and even a few websites in support of him.) But I had to do a bit of digging to find a picture of a Pokémon card suitable for playing with. I ended up browsing the official Pokémon website and its "card gallery"... and when I ran across the "Jynx" card, I stopped in shock.
Were these guys separated at hatching or what?
