Shelley Saxena and I launched Diva Productions in 2002 with the 'Strictly
West Coast'
weekend with Vancouver dancer, Christopher Desjardins. The
weekend included a 'Black and White Ball' in Toronto's Design
Exchange.
In February 2004 we introduced our 'It's All About You' Ladies only
styling classes, which have proven to be extremely popular...even the guys want
to attend! We work on all the fun stuff like playing and syncopations, but more
importantly we help our students develop the kind of smooth, sexy style
that only comes from proper technique...and lots of practice!
'Mike Topel Does T.O.' was our next project....a full day of workshops and a dance in August 2004 featuring the fabulous and fun Mike Topel (previously from Madison, Wisconsin, now based out of Austin, Texas). We brought Mike back in 2005 for the Re-Mike Weekend, which included a sold-out 'Master Class' on Sunday.
Beata Howe joined us July 7-9th, 2006 for the 'Just Say Yeah!' weekend, teaching a special 'Diva Styling' class on the Sunday.
In January 2007 we brought in Leading Man Doug Rousar for a limited engagement. We also launched a new line of Divawear: T-shirts with our distintinctive logo in Yummy Cranberry and Sexy Black. And in February 2007 we offeried a new series of Ladies Styling Classes: Followers' Finishing School, building on the series: 'Seven Habits of Highly Successful Followers.
We also host occasional Saturday night 'Diva Dances' . See the DANCES page for upcoming date dates/details.
