Kiwanis Community Lecture Series

Article By Dave Lyman (At Your Service - Kingston This Week)

The Kiwanis Club of Kingston has launched a highly successful lecture series dealing with events, issues, and innovations affecting Kingstonians. Each lecture features two speakers, with the first giving an overview of the topic, and the second, specific examples. The first two lectures dealt with “Alternative Energy Opportunities for Kingston” and “Green Buildings – Sustainable Development.” Because of the enthusiastic response, the club plans to continue the series in the fall, on the fourth Monday of each month, at Queen’s University. Each will be held in the evening and will replace the Kiwanis luncheon meeting normally held on the same day. Rowland Tinline, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Geography at Queen’s, is the chair of the speaker series, and he welcomes suggestions for future topics. He can be reached at
