Smokey Rose originally consisted of the duo of Darlene Thibault and Lee Hodgkinson who have performed traditional & contemporary country music at public and private venues throughout the Ottawa Valley since 1996.
Throughout the years, the band has included other singers and musicians, but to date they are still able to offer their unique sound with its original two members.
In June of 2006, the duo released their debut CD full of country classics. Local radio stations CJHR Valley Heritage Radio 98.7 and CHIP 101.7 FM have been airing selections from the CD on a regular basis.
Ed Ashton joined the group in 2010 and has added an extra layer to their sound with his bass playing and vocal talents.
With close to 200 songs in their repertoire, they always strive to deliver performances that are customized to each audience. Their enthusiasm for approaching each show as a unique opportunity, motivates them to continuously work on and add new material to every event’s playlist.
Smokey Rose continues to support many non-profit and charitable organizations by performing at their various fundraising events.
