1. Before.. Preamble up the beggining of the Market Garden
2. 48 Hours to D-Day The day of the solders knew of Market Garden
3. Preparation.. On the eighth of September we were briefed for an operation..
4. 30,000 Allied Troops.. Embark. Our destination was Grantham.
5. ..1:56 PM on the 17th of September.. To the uninitiated this maneuver may seem a little hazardous...
6. Oosterbeek ..which is about three miles from the bridge and it was on the outskirts that we first came under fire.
7. St. Elisabeth Hospital ..there was intermittent firing of small arms and the odd mortar bomb would explode in our immediate vicinity.
8. 28th of September I put the last of my charges on the stretcher and started down the street, but before I got to my destination I realized that the situation had changed for the worse
9. The Escape ..the Germans started evacuating all of us to a Dutch barracks in Apeldoorn..
10. Avoidance ..the consequences of being caught hiding escaped prisoners was that all the family would be shot..
11. Hiding The electricity had been turned off by the authorities and the only light we had was produced by canister..
12. Home Again ..we were met by a provost sergeant who gave us train vouchers..
