This Lord's word explained bible study document will be the Four Sore Judgments. I will show you what the four sore judgments are, the sword, the famine, the noisome beasts and pestilence, and what will happen in the end times to the people who do not follow and obey the Lord.

All text taken from the King James Bible

Ezek.14:21 - For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when (or, Also when) I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?

Ezek.7:15 - The sword [is] without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that [is] in the field shall die with the sword; and he that [is] in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.

I (the Lord GOD) send my four sore judgments - Ezek.14:21

II Sam.24:15 - So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men.

I Chr.21:14 - So the LORD sent pestilence upon Israel: and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men

Deut.32:23-25 - I (the Lord) will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them. (24) [They shall be] burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat (that is plague and pestilence), and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust. (25) The sword without, and terror within, (or, in the chambers), shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling [also] with the man of gray hairs.

So the four sore judgments are: 1) the sword, 2) the famine, 3) the noisome beast, 4) the pestilence

Let us examine them a little more closely one at a time

  1. the sword - see - Sword of the Spirit - Word of God
  2. the famine - see - Famine / Hunger
  3. noisome beasts - are wild animals/beasts - evil beasts
  4. pestilence - plague - burning heat/fever

Let me explain, "terror within," (or, in the chambers), Deut.32:25, using scripture. There are 2 explanation for this term.

Ps.19:5-6 - Which [is] as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, [and] rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. (6) His (the bridegroom) going forth [is] from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. - See - Deut.32:23-25 above again.

Is.26:20 - Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

So in the above verses, we see chambers as being a room.

Ezek.8:12 - Then said he (the Lord God) unto me, (Ezekiel), Son of man hast thou seen what the ancient of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.

In the above verse we see that the chamber is not only a room, but also the mind.

So that the "terror within" spoken of in Deut.32:25, not only refers to what will happen to the people, you and me, in the ancient of times, or the end times, within a room of your place of dwelling, your home, but also within the chambers of our mind. In other words, you may die from fright.

Please read Ezekiel, chapter 5 - I will begin at:

Ezek.5:12-17 - A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and I (the Lord God), will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them. (13) Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken [it] in my zeal, when I have accomplished my fury in them. (14) Moreover I will make thee waste, and a reproach among the nations that [are] round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by. (15) So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction an astonishment unto the nations that [are] round about thee, when I shall execute judgments in thee in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken [it.] (16) When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for [their] destruction, [and] which I (the Lord) will send to destroy you: and I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread: (17) So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall breave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken [it.]

Let us not make any mistake, the Lord will do whatever is necessary to turn you and me around to worship him, to give thanks for what we have; but instead, what usually happens, is that most of the people curse and swear at God for all the troubles that have come upon us and our country. We do not stop and think that the troubles we have received, we have done to ourselves - our country/nation. Many people go to church may be for an hour once a week, and think that they have done their duty, but shorly after they are outside the doors of the church, many start to curse and swear and have anger and hostility in their heart/mind before they even get back home. This is not what God wants from you. He wants your undivided attention several times a day, to give thanks, to serve and love him, more than you love yourself. - See Judgment of the Nations

send upon them the evil arrows of famine - Ezek.5:16

Please see Deut.32:23 above again.

evil beasts - Ezek.5:17 - also known as "wild beasts"

Lev.26:22 - I (the Lord your God) will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your [high] ways shall be desolate

II Kings 17:25 - And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, [that] they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew [some] of them.

Jer.15:2-3 - And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth: then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as [are] for death, to death; and such as [are] for the sword, to the sword; and such as [are] for the famine, to the famine; and such as [are] for the captivity, to the captivity. (3) And I (the Lord) will appoint over them four kinds, (or, families) saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heavens, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.

appoint over them - Jer.15:3

Lev.26:14-16 - But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments; (15) And if ye shall despise my statues, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, [but] that ye break my covenant: (16) I (the Lord your God) also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, (or, terrible things), consumption, and burning argue, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. - See - Ten Commandments

and the burning argue - Lev.26:16

Deut.28:22 - The LORD shall smite thee with consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning (or, irritation), and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

the fowls of the heaven - Jer.15:3

Deut.28:26 - And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray [them] away.

Now that I have covered all 4 of the sore judgments using the Old Testament, now let us turn to Matt.24:7-8; Mark 13:8 and Luke 21:11 for what is described in the Bible as the signs of the end.

Matt.24:7-8 - For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. (8) All these [are] the beginning of sorrows.

Mark 13:8 - For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these [are] the beginning of sorrows (Gr., birthpangs).

Luke 21:11 - And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famine, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Now let us take a look in Revelation

Rev.6:8 - And I (John) looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell (Gr. Hades, the grave) followed with him. And Power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the field.

Rev.18:8 - Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong [is] the Lord God who judgeth her.

Let me explain a couple of the word(s) found in Rev.6:8, using the Strong's concordance, "was Death" and "death" #2288 thanatos {than'-at-os} - 1a) that separation (whether natural or violent) of the soul and the body by which the life on earth is ended. Many of the definitions could be used for this passage. Also Rev.18:8 the word "death" #2288 thanatos {than'-at-os} - same as above - the death of the body.

Now let me explain another definition in Rev.6:8, using the Strong's concordance, "Hell" #86 hades {hah'dace} 1) name Hades or Pluto, the god of the lower regions 2) Orcus, the nether world, the realm of the dead, 3) later use of this word: the grave, death, hell. In Biblical Greek it is associated with Orcus, the infernal regions, a dark and dismal place in the very depths of the earth, the common receptacle of disembodied spirits. Usually Hades is just the abode of the wicked, Luke 16:23, Rev.20:13 & 14; a very uncomfortable place. As well as from #1 (as negative particle) and #1492. From #1 a {al'-fah} of Hebrew origin - Christ is the Alpha to indicate that he is the beginning and the end. So as negative particle, it would be absent from. You can look up the other number(s) for yourself.

The angel referred to in Rev.19:17 is one of God's angels - it is not a bad angel.

Rev.19:17-18 - And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; (18) That ye may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all [men, both] free and bond, both small and great.

Now I will go back to the Old Testament to confirm this

Ezek.39:17 - And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, [even] a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh and drink blood.

You can continue reading Ezek.39:18-29 for yourself.

Please go back and re-read Rev.6:8 above, and I will break it down into small parts.

A pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell (Gr. Hades, the grave) followed with him. Now many say that this is the devil or the antichrist, but look what follows next in this verse. And Power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the field. These are the four sore judgments. So this cannot be the devil or the antichrist, it can only be the Lord - Jesus and those who are with him

The word "power" indicates that something, (somebody) has been given a great deal of power. I have looked up the meaning of the word in the Strong's concordance and supplied it below.

In Rev.6:8, the word "power" #1849 exousia {ex-oo-see'-ah}, is from #1832 exesti {ex'-es-tee} (in the sense of ability); it is lawful. So "power" #1849 - 4c2b) the leading and more powerful among created beings superior to man, spiritual potentates. While there are many meanings to choose from I have given you the best meaning for this particular scripture. For synonym words see #5820 Azmaveth {az-maw'veth} = "strong unto death", which comes from #5794 and #4194; also #5810 as well as #4191, which what it means is that Jesus will be strong and prevail until he has put down all (opposing) rule until death

I have shown you in Judgment, The First Resurrection and The Second Death, that Jesus has the keys of hell (Gr. Hades, the grave) and death, Rev.1:18; and Jesus must rule until he has put down all rule and all authority and power, I Cor.15:24

In I Cor.15:24, the word "power" #1411 dunamis {doo'-nam-is} which comes from #1410, which comes from #1464 - which what it means is strong, power, and overcome; for synonyms words in the O.T. the entry would be #5820 Azmaveth {as-maw'-veth} = "strong unto death", which come from #5794 and #4194; also #5810 as well as #4191. Notice that the synonym words for "power" #1411 are the same as for the word "power" #1849 above. So Jesus will rule until he has put down all rule and all authority and power

I Cor.15:24, 26 & 28 - Then [cometh] the end, when he (Jesus) shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. (26) The last enemy [that] shall be destroyed [is] death. (28) And when all things shall be subdued unto him (Jesus) then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him (God) that put all things under him, (Jesus), that God may be all in all.

Did you follow that? Jesus has the keys of hell and death and he must reign until he has put down all rule, all authority and power, and at the time of the end, he will deliver up the kingdom to God; the last enemy to be destroyed is death. And when all things have been subdued unto Jesus, then Jesus, the Son of God/Son of man, will also be subject unto God (the Father), so that God will be all in all. - See - Heir and Joint-Heir with Christ, also see, Judgment, The First Resurrection and the Second Death

In otherwords, when Jesus has been successful in destroying the last enemy - death, he will have prevailed, and overcome all obstacles. He will have completely conquered and gotten the victory! and when this has happened, there will be no more Satan!!
