PARABLE OF THE FRUIT - TREE OF LIFE

This Lord's words explained bible study document will be, Parable of the Fruit - Tree of Life. I will show you that Jesus refers to people as trees--and those trees who bring forth good fruit do the work of God. I will also show you what the fruit of the Spirit is - in otherwords, the qualities which we are to strive for, in order to get into the kingdom of heaven. But those trees which bring forth evil fruit are cut down and cast into the fire. And evil fruit do not keeping the commandments of God nor do God's work - they do the works of the flesh.

All text taken from the version of King James Bible

Matt.7:15 - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly the are ravening wolves.

Let us take a look at what the Lord says about false prophets, and what he will do with them.

of false prophets,.... - Matt.7:15

Jer.23:9-11, 14-22 - Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a druken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness. (10) For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing (or, cursing) the land mourneth; and pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force [is] not right. (11) For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD. (14) I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: (or, filthiness,) they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. (15) Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I (the Lord) will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness (or, hypocrisy) gone forth into all the land. (16) Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, (or, mind), [and] not out of the mouth of the LORD. (17) They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination (or, stubbornness) of his own heart, (or, mind), No evil shall come upon you. (18) For who hath stood in the counsel, (or, secret) of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word and heard [it?]

Now this is what the Lord is going to do.

(19) Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grevious whirlwind: it shall fall greviously upon the head of the wicked. (20) The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the the thoughts of his heart, (or, mind): in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly. (21) I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. (22) But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

There are many other scripture for false prophets, but you can look them up for yourself.

the latter days - Jer.23:20

Gen.49:1 - And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I (Jacob) may tell you [that] which shall befall you in the last days

In the above scripture, Jacob called his sons together just before he died and told them what their inheritance would be.

the last days - Gen.49:1

Deut.4:30 - When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, [even] in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

[even] in the latter days - Deut.4:30

Deut.31:29 - For I (Moses) know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt [yourselves,] and turn aside from the way which I (Moses) have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

Jer.23:20 - The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: (or, mind), in the latter days ye shall consider it perfect.

So "the latter days," - in the spiritual sense, means, before you die. There is however, another meaning, and that is - at the time of the return of the Lord Jesus, after the 7th trumpet has blown. - See - Parable of the Tares of the Field

In this document, I will be using "the latter days" in the spiritual sense - before you die.

come to you in sheep's clothing - Matt.7:15

Micah 3:5 - Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.

II Tim.3:5 - Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

concerning the prophets that make my people err - Micah 3:5

Is.56:10 - His watchmen [are] blind: they are all ignorant, they [are] all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, (or, dreaming, or talking in their sleep), lying down, loving to slumber. - See - Parable of the Good Shepherd

blind: - Is.56:10

Matt.15:13-14 - But he (Jesus) answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. (14) Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. - See - Tares, also, Parable of Tares of the Field

The disciples then ask Jesus to declare unto them this parable, and Jesus was a bit perplexed with them and said, Are ye also yet without understanding? Matt.15:15-16, then he said to them in -

Matt.15:17-20 - Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, (the stomach) and is cast out into the draught? (the stools/feces, etc.) (18) But those things which proceed out of the mouth (speech/words) come forth from the heart, (or, mind), and they defile the man. (19) For out of the heart (or, mind) proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornication, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: (20) These are [the things] which defile a man: (person), but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.(person) - See - What Defiles A Person

are ravening wolves - Matt.7:15

Acts 20:29 - For I (Paul) know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

shall grievous wolves enter in among you, -

II Peter 2:1 - But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction

Let me continue with -

Matt.8:16-17 - Ye shall know them (the false prophets) by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorn, or figs of thistle? (17) Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Do men gather grapes of thorn, or figs of thistle? - Matt.8:16

Luke 6:43 - For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit - Matt.8:17

Jer.11:19 - But I [was] like a lamb [or] an ox [that] is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, [saying,] Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

Matt.7:18-20 - A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. (19) Every tree that bringeth not for good fruit is hew down, and cast into the fire. (20) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. - See - Wicked One and Furnace of Fire/Lake of Fire in - Parable of the Kingdom and Sower Scriptural Definitions

Now let us look at what the fruit of the Spirit is.

Gal.5:22 & 23-25 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (25) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

There is no law against the above fruit, and if we live these things in our hearts, or minds, then let us show these fruits towards one another.

Note - "love" means brotherly love towards one another, not of a sexual nature - that would be works of the flesh, covered in Gal.5:17-21.

the fruit of the Spirit - Gal.5:22

John 15:2 - Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he (God) taketh away: and every [branch] that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

branch in me that beareth not fruit - John 15:2

Matt.15:13 - But he (Jesus) answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

Heb.6:8 - But that which beareth thorns and briers [is] rejected, and [is] nigh unto cursing; whose end [is] to be burned. - See - Tares; Parable of the Tare of the Field; and Parable of the Mustard Seed

So if the fruit of the Spirit found are found in Gal.5:22-23 above, let us look at what the works of the flesh are -

Gal.5:17-21 - For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. (18) But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. (19) Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these;] Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, (20) Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, (21) Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I (Paul) tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. - See - "Cisterns," in Fountain of Living Waters vs. Cisterns

After Jesus has returned and he has reigned for a thousand years and Satan has been locked up for this time period, the people have a chance to learn how we are suppose to live, because Satan will not be able to influence or deceive the people. At the end of the thousand year reign, Satan is again released, and again, Satan deceives the people and gathers them that are with him to make war against God's people, and then Satan/devil is cast into the lake of fire and brimstone for ever (Amen). - Rev.20:7-10 - See - Judgment, The First Ressurection and the Second Death

Now let us take a look at what Jesus says in -

Rev.21:6-8 - And he (Jesus) said unto me (John), It is done, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I (Jesus) will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of water of live freely. (7) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. (8) But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

If you do any of the lusts of the flesh, then you will not be able to inherit the kingdom of God, because -

the flesh lusteth against the Spirit - Gal.5:17

Rom.7:23 - But I (Paul) see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. See - Spiritual Gifts of God and One Christ--Many Members

But -

if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law - Gal.5:18

Rom.6:14 - For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace (or, God's strength)

Please continue reading Romans chapter 6

So if you are living by the fruits of the Spirit, Gal.5:22-23, then you are not under the law, because you will be under God's grace, or strength. If you are following the fruits of the Spirit, the you will not be breaking most of the laws - because you live by the fruits of the Spirit. However, you must remember to keep all of the commandments, including the first one.

However, if you are living by the works of the flesh, Gal.5:19-21, then you are under the law, because you are living contrary to the fruit of the Spirit, and your mind will be at war against the fruits of the Spirit. And the works of the flesh will bring you into captivity to the law of sin. Remember: Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. - I John 3:4. Therefore, if sin is your downfall then you cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven - Gal.5:21

If we truly repent and ask God's forgivness and strive to walk in his ways, he will forgive us. There is no better story to tell here, than that of Saul (Paul) in Acts 9, where he has had the Christians murdered and imprisoned for believing in Jesus and following the ways of the Lord Jesus. When Lord asks Saul in verse 4, ...Saul, why persecutest thou me? Saul (Paul) goes on to become a disciple of the Lord Jesus. He repented - completely changed his ways and followed the Lord. If God can forgive Saul (Paul), then he will forgive you if you truly repent and follow the ways of the Lord. It is Paul who has written many of the books of the New Testament. God uses Paul, to shows us that we to, can change, and God will forgive us. There is no room in God's kingdom for those who think they can do as they please and break the commandments of God, and who do not want to follow God's ways, as Jesus tells us in Rev.21:7-8, see above.

We are to strive and bring forth the qualities of the fruit of the Spirit not only for ourselves, but to help others bring forth these qualities also - just as Paul did.

Why -

Because every tree which does not bring forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the furnace of fire, - Matt.7:19 - See - Furnace of Fire/Lake of Fire

Matt.7:18 - A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Matt.7:20 - Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

I may be repeating myself here, but this is important for you to know and understand. One can redeem themselves, just as Saul (Paul) did in the scripture above. You can repent and turn your life around and start working on the qualities of the fruit of the Spirit and leave the works of the flesh behind. Because, the works of the flesh will NOT be allowed into the kingdom of heaven or God.

Doing the qualities of the fruit of the Spirit, coupled with the talents or gifts that the Lord has given each of us to use, then you will truly be doing the work the Lord intended you to do. - See - Spiritual Gifts of God and One Christ--Many Members; as well as, Parable of the Dishonest Stewart, Also - Mammon or Faith

When you truly strive towards doing the fruit of the spirit, you will also notice that you will have a more inner peace, while some of the works of the flesh may still be going on in the people around you, you will not be a party to their doings. You can walk away from them and their works.

Perhaps this is one of the meanings that Jesus meant in the following scripture -

Rev.18:4 - And I (John) heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. - See - Mark of the Beast--666

So bring ye forth good fruit - found in Gal.5:22-23

Rev.22:14 - Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. See - The Ten Commandments , also, The Husband and The Bride--The Kingdom of God

Matt.7:13-14 - Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

God does not leave you any margin for errors, you either live righteously that is - the fruits of the Spirit and the commandments of God, or you will not be able to enter in through the gates into the (new) city and have the rights to the tree of life.
