In this Lord's word bible study, Judgment of the Nations, Jesus is once again telling us what we must do in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. We will see that the Lord is speaking to the children of Israel to show them they need to repent, that is to change their ways, believe in the Son of God/Son of man - Jesus Christ, wherefore he will not be ashamed to be called their God, and when it comes time for the people to be judged, he will divide the good from the bad, and if you seek, or desire a better country, that is a heavenly place, then God has prepared for you a city.
But in order to be in this "heavenly place," one must live a righteous life - to do good to others and not hurt, or kill people, otherwise, you will not be able to enter the city that the Almighty has prepared for you.
For we shall all stand before the judgement seat of Christ - Rom.14:10, that every one may receive the things [done] in [his] body, according to that he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad - II Cor.5:10. For - he that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. - Rev.21:7

In order to shorten this document a little bit, I will give you the scripture and you can look them up for yourself. Many of the scripture are the same for this phrase as for the previous phrase explained. Please read - Dan.7:13; John14:3; I The.1:10; I Thes.4:16; II Thes.1:10; Rev.1:7. Any scripture thay may be more difficult to understand, then please read several verses before and after those given.
Matt.25:32 - 33 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: (33) - And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. See - The Good Shepherd
"nation" - #1484 - N.T. - AV - Gentiles, nation, heathen, people; - (3) a tribe, nation, people group
So the word "nation" in the above scripture can mean a tribe or a group of people, in otherwords, "...before him (Jesus) shall be gathered all people:" Now let me explain that phrase -
before him (Jesus) shall be gathered all nations: - Matt.25:32
Rom.14:10 - But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. - See Mat.25:31 and Jude verses 14 and 15
II Cor.5:10 - For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things [done] in [his] body, according to that he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad. See - Rev.22:12
Rev.20:12 - And I (John) saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book} of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
he (Jesus) shall separate them one from another - Matt.25:32
Ezek.20:38 - And I (the Lord God) will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where there sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.
Ezek.34:17 - And [as for] you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats.
Matt.13:49 - So shall it be at the end of the world: the angel shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just - See - Parable of the Mustard Seed
I (the Lord GOD) will purge out from among you the rebels, and .... - Ezek.20:38
Matt.3:12 - Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he (Jesus) will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire - See - Furnace of Fire/Lake of Fire and Brimstone; Also see - Ezek.34:17 and Matt.25:32
Now let me sum up the meaning of Matt.25:31-33. The Son of man, Jesus Christ, shall come in his glory - Matt.25:31, he shall come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven - Acts 1:11 and when he returns, he shall gather before him all nations, or people and he will separate the sheep on the right side and the goats on the left side, or the good from the bad - Matt.25:32-33, because Jesus will throughtly purge his floor, and gather his wheat (the good) into the floor, but he will burn up the chaff (the wicked), with unquenchable fire - Matt.3:12, for we shall all stand before the judgement seat of Christ - Rom.14:10, that every one may receive the things [done] in [his] body, according to that he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad - II Cor.5:10, and so it shall be at the end of the world, or the end of the age of time, the angel shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just - Matt.13:49
Now let us continue with -
Matt.25:34 - Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
"The King" in the above verse is referring to Jesus - please see Rev.19 verses 11, 13 and 16
"Inherit the kingdom" has two meanings, the kingdom - a place or, a land, which I will not go into, but the other meaning is "spiritual," and this is what I will try to explain for you.
inherit the kingdom - Matt.25:34
Rom.8:17 - And if children, then heirs, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him,] that we may be also glorified together. - See - Heirs and Joint-Heirs With Christ
I Peter 1:4 & 9 - To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you (or, us) (9) Receiving the end of your faith, [even] the salvation of [your] souls.
I Peter 3:9 - Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are there unto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
Rev.21:7 - He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
The word "overcome" has been explained in Four Horses of Revelation
prepared for you from the foundation of the world - Matt.25:34
I Cor.2:9 - But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
Heb.11:16 - But now they desire a better [country], that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
In the above scripture, God is speaking to the Isralite people, but mainly to the Jewish people.
to be called their God - Heb.11:16
Ex.3: 6, 14-15 - Moreover, he (the Lord) said, I [am] the God of thy Father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. (14) And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. (15) And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this [is] my name for ever, and this [is] my memorial unto all generations.
Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, - I Cor.2:9
Is.64:4 - For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
Please read Gen.28:13 for yourself. Now let me explain the phrase -
he hath prepared for them a city - Heb.11:16
Phil.3:20 - For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.
our conversation is in heaven - Phil.3:20
Col.3:1-3 - If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. (2) Set your affections (or, mind) on things above, not on things on the earth. (3) For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Now let me try to sum up the meaning of Matt.25:34. Again, Jesus is referring to the Israelite people - the non-believers - especially the Jews - that Jesus Christ is the Son of God/Son of man, and Jesus says, Come, ye blessed of my Father, "inherit the kindgon." If you read all the scripture that I gave you, you will see that Jesus is talking about the kingdom, or, place in your mind; and he that overcometh shall inherit all things... - Rev.21:7
The Lord is waiting for you to repent and accept him completely for he that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I (Jesus) will be his God, and he shall be my son, - Rev.21:7; and if children, then heirs, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ ... - Rom.8:17 And this kingdom has been prepared for you from the foundation of the world, - Matt.25:34. So it has been there all along, but the non-believers have just not accepted that Jesus - the Son of God/Son of man, came in the flesh, was crucified for our sins and rose again the third day and not sits on the right hand of God, until God tells him to return again to rule for a thousand years. While some of that scripture is not in this document, you can find it in one of my other documents.
There is no possible way that I could begin to imagine the things which God has prepared for him (or, me) that love him (Jesus) - I Cor.2:9. But those who do love and accept that Jesus Christ is the son of God/Son of man, who came in the flesh and died for our sins who now desire a better [country], that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared them a city - Heb.11:16; a heavenly city - for our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, - Phil.3:20
In the Foundations of Heaven and Earth, I showed you where the "spiritual" kingdom of heaven was, please refer to that document. And if you are baptized into the death of Jesus Christ, and you are then risen with Christ--then seek those things which are above and not on things on earth, because you are dead (to the things or pleasures on earth,) and your life is hid with Christ in God - Col.3:1-3
Now let us continue with -
Matt.25:35-36 - For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirst, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
I think most of us can understand the reality or the physical aspect of the above two scriptures, but it is the "spiritual" meaning that I will be giving you, some of which I have explained in other documents, and I would ask that you please read to get a good understanding.
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirst, and ye gave me drink: - Matt.25:35
Please see - Famine/Hunger; also see - Meat of God or Bread of Life
I was a stranger, and ye took me in: - Matt.25:35
Heb.13:12 - Remember them that are in bonds as bound with them; [and] them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body
III John 5 - Beloved thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren and to strangers
naked #1131 - N.T. - of uncertain affinity - AV - naked, bare; - 1a) unclad, without clothing, the naked body; 1d) of the soul, whose garment is the body, stripped of the body, without a body - found 15 times - Matt.25:36, 38, 43, 44; Mark 14:51, 52; John 21:7; Acts 19:16; I Cor.15:37; II Cor.5:3; Heb.4:13; James 2:15; Rev.3:17; 16:15
Now let me explain the word "naked," yes, it means unclothed, but the "spiritual" definition to be naked "of the soul" is the one I want you to understand - it means - not knowing, understanding and believing the word of the Lord Jesus Christ, that he is the Son of God/Son of man and the gospel that he brought to us - that is what the word "naked" means spiritually. It is the spiritual meaning of this parable that is the most important.
Let us take a moment to look at a few scriptures for the word "naked" -
Job 26:6 - Hell [is] naked before him (God) and destruction hath no covering. - Also see -Prov.15:11
Rev.16:15 - Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
lest he walk naked - Rev.16:15
II Cor.5:1-4 - For we know that if our earthly house of [this] tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (2) For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: (3) If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. (4) For we that are in [this] tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that motality might be swallowed up of life. - See - Temples of God--Churches
being clothed we shall not be found naked - II Cor.5:3
Rev.3:18 - I (Jesus) counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
clothed upon - II Cor.5:4
I Cor.15:53 - For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality.
to buy - Rev.3:18
Is.55:1 - Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. - Also read - Matt.13:44 and 25:9 - also see - Fountain of Living Waters vs. Cisterns
white raiment - Rev.3:18
See II Cor.5:3, above
this mortal [must] put on immortality - I Cor.15:53
See II Cor.5:4
Let me sum up the "spiritual" meaning of the word "naked" - to be unclothed spiritually means to not have the knowledge, understanding and belief of the Lord. If you do not have this knowledge, understanding or belief of the Lord, then you are to "buy, and eat" which means - the Lord's word is food and it is free to everybody, but you must study so that you will understand the Lord's words, and if your faith dwindles, then you are responsible to go and renew your faith and understanding of the Lord, whether you study on your own, or whether you go to somebody who can teach you, but always verify what you are being told, let no one deceive you, prove all things, hold fast that which is good, because ultimately, you are responsible for your own salvation, and your corruptible (body) must put on incorruption and your mortal (body) must put on immortality. And I do not think that on the day you are judged by the Lord, that you want to stand before him - "naked."
Jesus was not only speaking about the body, or the person who did not have clothes, but the body or soul, of the person who does not have any knowledge, understanding and belief about the Lord Jesus and how to enter the kingdom of heaven or life eternal. So you need to be able to see and understand both stories at the same time.
Now let us continue with -
and ye clothed me: (Jesus) - Matt.25:36
James 2:15-16 - If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, (16) And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be [ye] warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what [doth it] profit?
So, you see in the scripture above, Paul is trying to tell the people that you need to see both definitions of "naked."
"prison" - Matt.25:36 - is not only referring to a small room with bars to keep one within, but it also is referring to somebody who is unable to see or understand the words of the Lord.
Let us take a look at -
Is.61:1 - The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; (Isaiah), because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound;
and the opening of the prison" - #6495 - O.T. - AV - opening of the prison - 1) opening (of eyes), wide - found only once - Is.61:1
from #6491 - O.T. - a primitive root - AV - open; 1) to open (the eyes); 1a2) to open (the ears) - See - Is.35:5; *Is.42:7, 20; Dan.9:18; Zech.12:4
"to [them that are] bound" - #631 - O.T. - a primitive root; AV - bind, prison, tie, prisoner, - 1) to tie, bind, imprison; 1b) (Niphal) to be imprisoned, bound
So what this is saying is, to open the eyes and ears of those who are bound, or who cannot see or hear/understand the Lord's words.
In this next scripture, Jesus has gone to the synagogue on the sabbath day and stood up to read and when the book of the prophet Esaias had been brought to Jesus he found the scripture he wanted and began to read - Luke 4:16-17
Luke 4:18-19 & 21 - The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of the sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, (19) To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (21) And he (Jesus) began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
I will not give you all the definitions for the above scripture, but I will sum up what Is.61: and Luke 4:18-19 & 21 means - "the opening of the prison" or the opening of the eyes and/or the ears to understanding the words of the Lord, to give the "liberty" or "deliverance," or to release the people from bondage or imprisonment, the forgiving or pardoning of one's sins as if they have never been committed, remission of the penalty, "to the captives," or to lift or elevate one's spirit - to make one feel better, "recovering of sight," or the recovering of one's sight, to be aware of, to be able to discern, to see with the mind's eye, to have (the power) of understanding, "to the blind," or the mentally blind, the proud or the high-minded people who are unable to see and understand and give them or set them at "liberty" or "deliverance," "them that are bruised," - we (the people) have been "bruised" ever since the serpent deceived Eve. - Also see - Parable of the Tares of the Field, and Judgment, The First Resurrection and the Second Death, for more information on the above scripture.
Now let me continue with -
Matt.25:37-40 - Then shall the righteous answer him, (Jesus), saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed [thee?] or thirsty, and gave [thee] drink? (38) When saw we thee a stranger, and took [thee] in? or naked, and clothed [thee?] (39) Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? (40) And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.
Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me - Matt.25:40
Prov.14:31 - He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.
Prov.19:17 - He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
I John 3:17 - But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels [of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
II Cor.9:6 - But this I (Paul) say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Heb.6:10 - For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
Also see - Prov.22:9; Gal.6:7 & 9;
The above scripture shows you that you should try to help those who may need physical assistance, with clothing and food etc., but also give to their spiritual needs.
We need to remember the second of the great commandments, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matt.22:39. We also need to keep in mind the Golden Rule, To treat others as you would like to be treated, with kindness and respect. I have paraphrased this, you will find the Golden Rule in Matt.7:12.
Let us continue with -
Matt.25:41 - Then shall he (the King) say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Rev.20:2-3 - And he (the angel) laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, (3) And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations (or, people) no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Matt.25:42-45 - For I (the King) was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirst, and ye gave me no drink: (43) I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. (44) Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or thirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? (45) Then shall he (the Lord/the King) answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] not to one of the least of these, ye did [it] not to me.

(15) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. - See - Judgment, The First Resurrection and The Second Death
eternal - Matt.25:46
Rev.3:21 - To him that overcometh will I (Jesus) grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Read the above verse above again very carefully, and contemplate on it. The word "overcometh" and "overcame" have been explained in the document Four Horses of Revelation
will I (Jesus) grant to sit with me in my throne - Rev.3:21
Rev.7:15 - Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
So the meaning of Matt.25:44-46 - so long as you are teaching and giving the knowledge of the Lord to others, you have also done it unto him - Jesus - Matt.25:45, and the Spirit will teach us (the churches), if we listen to what the Spirit is trying to teach us - Rev.2:7, and if we overcome we will set with (Jesus) in his throne - Rev.3:21, BUT, those who do not help others and teach them and help them to understand the word of the Lord will go into everlasting punishment - Matt.25:46
This is the last parable, or story in the book of Matthew that Jesus told his disciples and/or the multitude of people, when he said to his disciples - Ye know that after two days is [the feast of] the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. - Matt.26:1-2
This is the judgment of the people when he returns spoken of in Revelations 20:12-15 and Dan.7:10, when you stand before Jesus, compare with Matt.25:46, then read again, the scripture provided above for the phrases, "these shall go away into everlasting punishment," and "eternal." - Also read - Judgment, The First Resurrection and The Second Death.
Because the dead are judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Rev.20:12
according to their works - Rev.20:12

Matt.16:27 - For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; (see - Dan.7:10; Matt.25:31; Zech.14:15; Jude 14), and then he (Jesus) shall reward every man according to his works. (see - Job 34:11; Ps.62:12; Prov.24:12; Jer.17:10; Rom.2:6; II Cor.5:10; I Peter 1:17; Rev.2:23; Rev.22:12)
It is one thing to minister, or give, to the "physical" needs of the people, and this is fine and also necessary, but, it is the "spritual" needs of the people that Jesus is addressing in this parable. Are you giving "spiritual" help to somebody? - a family member, a friend, a stranger? These are questions you need only ask yourselves, it is between you and the Lord. How do you think you will be judged. Do you need to repent and make a few changes in your life? Remember: - you are responsible for your own salvation.
This document is meant to help you understand your Bible more easily, however, it may not give you all the answers, you will need to study your Bible as well as read other documents, but let no one deceive you, prove all things; hold fast that which is good, because, ultimately, you, are responsible for your own salvation.
Let us end this Bible study with a prayer - O God thy heavenly Father, please help me to be a better person each day, to follow the commandments, and help me to strive each day to be more in thy presence, in Jesus name I ask. Amen.
