This Lord's words explained bible study document will be Tithing and Charity. I will show you that God says that it is better to hear and obey his word, than burnt offerings or sacrifices, and that it is better to love him with all your heart (or, mind) and soul, and to love his neighbour as himself.
All text taken from the version of the King James Bible
Let us begin this Bible study with a prayer, O God, thy heavenly Father, grant me the wisdom and knowledge, so that I may be able to understand this document, in Jesus name. Amen.
Initially, tithing for the Jews, meant the offering of the first 10% of unblemished fruit to the priest and the Levites to be blessed in the Lord. This included their first unblemished cattle, sheep, goats, their first unblemished fruit from the orchard or garden and it also included the first male child was to serve the Lord, or become a servant of the Lord, to teach the people the ways of God.
The food offering (animals or produce) was brought to the priest who then offered it to the Lord. After the priests and the Levites have taken and/or eaten their portion or fill, the rest is then shared with the people who did not have food.
But the priests were also to share the words of the Lord, or teach the people the ways of the Lord. However, as with many things, there were people who broke with this way of living and God has been punishing the people for this. So God made a change in that he sent his only begotten Son into the world, to teach a new gospel, a new way of living. But because the Jewish priests did not understand, and they felt threatened by the new gospel, and because they thought they would lose their position in the community or the world, they sought for a way to kill Jesus, or to have him killed, and they finally accomplished this, but only because Jesus allowed this to happen.
Jesus knew before he came to earth as the Son of God/Son of man, that his life would be difficult and that he would be sacrified, crucified, (or, a sweet savour). He came knowing this, to teach the people a new way of living. Please see - Baptize, Salvation, Faith, Dead and Death for an explanation of "sweet savour," or sacrifice. One no longer had to tithe 10% of their first fruits - cattle, sheep, goats, or produce - of the orchard fruit or garden fruit/produce, because Jesus came to sacrifice his life for the sins of the people, . What God wants now is your time--the first portion of your morning/day, to offer up prayers of thanks to worship God and to study his word, as well as to offer prayers and praise to the Lord numerous times of the day. Much of the above information was taken from the following chapters of - Lev.27; Num.18; Deut.12; 14; 26; II Chron.31; Neh.10; 12; 13; Amo 4; Mal.3; and Heb.7, (this document does not include or go into the feasts as described in Lev. chapter 23.)
Now let me begin with -
In I Samuel, chapter 15, Samuel was sent to anoint Saul to be king over his people, over Israel. God told Saul to utterly destroy every thing, man, woman, child, and animals of the Amalek's, (one of the tribes of giants), and all that they owned, and Saul and his men killed all the men, women and children and most of the animals. They kept the best of the goods for themselves and the sheep and the oxen to offer to God as a sacrifice unto God, and they captured the king of the Amalek's.
So Saul did not obey the voice of the Lord, because he was instructed to destroy all the Amalek's - that included the king, and everything they owned including all the animals - they were to keep nothing.
I Samuel 15:10-11 - Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying, (11) It repenteth me (that is, causes me sorrow , or regret), that I (the Lord) have set up Saul [to be] king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto (or, interceded with) the LORD all night.
When Samuel spoke to Saul about what he and his men had done, he (Saul) tried to excuse himself for not obeying the Lord.
I Samuel 15:22 - And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as great] delight in burn offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams
You can read the rest of Samuel, chapter 15 for yourself.
to obey [is better than sacrifice - I Sam.15:22
Eccles.5:1 - Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.
Hosea 6:6 & 9 - For I (the Lord) desire mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. (9) And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness
lewdness # 2154 - OT -(from #2161) - AV - lewdness, wickedness, mischief, lewd, heinous crime, wicked devices, lewdly, wicked mind, purposes, thought - 1) plan, device, wickedness, evil plan, mischievious purpose, 1a) plan, purpose, 1b) evil device, wickedness, 1c) not chaste, incest, licentiousness, adultery, idolatry, harlotry
from #2161 - OT - a primitive root - AV - thought, devise, consider, purpose, imagine, plot - 1) to have a thought, devise, plan, consider, purpose; 1a) (Qal) 1a1) to consider, fix thought upon; 1a2) to purpose, devise; 1a3) to plot (of evil intent)
Now that I have given you the definition of "lewdness," please read Hosea 6:9 above again and take notice, ...as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests ...., not a very pleasant picture of the priests or rabbi - this also includes, ministers, pastors, and preachers - any person who collects money or receives money for teaching the word of the Lord, fit into this category.
We, as individuals, who go a church/organization, give consent to the priests, rabbi, ministers etc., to kill us, (spiritually,) because we do not demand that they teach us what the Bible actually says, and if they do not teach us what the Bible says, then we cannot enter into the gates of heaven - ...strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?- Matt.7:14-16
Jesus tells the scribes and Pharisees in -
Matt.15:8-9 - This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. (9) But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Does the minister, pastor, preacher, priest or rabbi of your church/organization teach you to keep the commandments of God--all of them? Do you keep the sabbath day holy, and if so, which day are you keeping holy. In the Old Testament, the true Sabboth day was the seventh day, God rested on the seventh day--or Saturday. There were various kings which moved the day of rest, the sabboth day, to suit themselves, but God did not change the day.
In the New Testament, I have not found anywhere that the Lord changed the day from the seventh day. It states in the gospels, that Jesus went into the synagogue or temple to teach on the sabboth day. Jesus said in Matt.5:17 - Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Now if I am incorrect, and somebody wishes to show me by documentation, where in the King James Bible the sabboth day has been changed from the seventh day, I would be very happy to check into it.
For many of us, it is hard to keep that one day just for God, it is hard to stay away from doing things that are for yourself--for your own enjoyment, but we must - remember to keep the Sabboth Day Holy. We are told in Rev.18:4 - ...Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. And in II Cor.6:16 - And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. - See - Temples of God--Churches
Having various social events on Sunday, or fixing your car, riding your bike, or many other activities on Sunday is okay, but doing these things on the seventh day - Saturday, the true Sabboth Day - is wrong, and you are breaking the fourth commandment of God - Remember the Sabboth Day to keep it holy. We are told over and over again in the New Testament to keep the commandments of God, and I have shown you this in various documents. So this means no working for your own pleasure, eg. fixing your car, cleaning the house, swimming or playing any sports, eg., playing hockey, football or baseball, golf, etc. However, this does not mean that you cannot help somebody when they are ill, remember Jesus healed on the Sabboth day, this would be a form of charity, which will be discussed below.
Sorry, I got a bit sidetracked, but the above information was very important for you to understand, now let me get back to the topic of tithing and the phrase I was explaining was - to obey [is] better than sacrifice, in I Sam.15:22
Again, read -
Hoesa 6:9 - And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.
Matt.5:24 - Leave there thy gift before the alter, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Mark 12:33-34 - And to love him (the Lord God) with all the heart and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love [his] neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifiece. (34) And when Jesus saw that he (the scribe) answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him [any question.] - See - Two Great Commandments
Read the above scripture again, and notice what Jesus was bringing to the man's attention in vs.33, when he said ...Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. - See - Where Are Heaven and Hell
Luke 11:42 - But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: those ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. - See - I Sam.15:22 above.
So, we see it is better to obey God, than to sacrifice.
then to give the sacrifice of fools: - Eccles.5:1
Ps.50:8 - I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, [to have been] continually before me.
Let us continue to see what this chapter says -
Ps.50:9-13 - I (God) will take no bullock out of thy house, (of Israel, or tribe of Israel), [nor] he goats out of thy folds. (10) For every beast of the forest [is] mine, [and] the cattle upon a thousand hills. (11) I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. (12) If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world [is] mine, and the fulness thereof. (13) Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
Now let us see what God wants -
Ps.50:14 & 23 - Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High (23) Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth [his] conversation [aright] will I shew the salvation of God. You can read the whole chapter for yourself.
Let me repeat
Ps.50:23 - Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth [his] conversation [aright] will I shew the salvation of God.
We must make our conversation correct with the Lord and offer praise to him, and then, God will show us salvation. You will not get salvation without following the above.
Read Ps.50:23 above again.
salvation #3468 - O.T. - from #3467 - AV - salvation, safety, saving; 1) deliverance, salvation, rescue, safety, welfare; 1a) safety, welfare, prosperity; 1b) salvation; 1c) victory - this number can be found 36 times in the scriptures -
from #3467 - O.T. - a primitive root - AV - save, saviour, deliver, help, preserved, salvation, avenging, at all, avenged, defend, rescue, safe, victory - 1) to save, be saved, be delivered; 1a) (Niphal); 1a1) to be liberated, be saved, be delivered; 1a2) to be saved (in battle), be victorious; 1b) (Hiphil); 1b1) to save, deliver; 1b2) to save from moral troubles; 1b3) to give victory to; - this number can be found 205 times in the scriptures
I Thes.5:17-19 - Pray without ceasing. (18) In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (19) Quench not the Spirit.
If you give God praise and glorifieth him and make your conversation right with God, then will he show you safety and give you deliverance. Do not expect the Lord to come to your aid or assistance, if you do not praise and glorify him on a regular basis, but only pray to God when you may need his help, he does not work in that manner. If you continue doing the things that are most important to you today, rather than seeking the Lord and offering him praise and glory, once the Lord has shut the door to the marriage with him, and you then wish to seek him, he will say, "...I know you not." - Matt.25:10 & 12
Now let me continue with "the sacrifice of fools" -
Prov.15:8 - The sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright [is] his delight.
Prov.21:27 - The sacrifice of the wicked [is] abomination: how much more, [when] he bringeth it with a wicked mind? (or, in wickedness)?
Also see, I Sam.15:22 and Hosea 6:6 above again.
In Ps. 50, we saw that if God were hungry, he could eat anything he wanted, because the whole world belongs to him, all the creatures and all the resources in the earth - God made or created --God is the Creator - he is rich, he does not need your burnt offerings, nor does he need your money, which is a form of tithing. Jesus said in Luke 20:25 - ...Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.
knowledge of God - Hosea 6:6
John 17:3 - And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
And also to offer -
unto God thanksgiving- Ps.50:14
Hosea 14:1-2 - O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. (2) Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive [us] graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips. - See - Iniquity and Vanity
Heb.13:15-16 - By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of [our] lips giving thanks to (or, confessing to) his name. (16) But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
To "render the calves of our lips," means that we are to, "offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually," - that is, giving thanks to God - Hosea 14:2 and Heb.13:15
this is love eternal - John17:3
Is.53:11 - He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant (Jesus) justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Jer.9:24 - But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD.
But what does God want most from you and me? In Psalm 50, we saw that God was rich, because he has created everything and it is all his to do with whatever he wants. The thing that God wants most from you and me is -
These are the most important to God, but not to for get to do good and to communicate, for these sacrifices also please God - Heb.13:16
It is not your money that God wants, so much, as it is your time. Time spent thanking God, praising God, and spreading the word or the knowledge and understanding of the word of God, and keeping the Commandments of God, all of them. - See - Parable of the Fruit - Tree of Life; Ten Commandments.
Ps.50:23 - Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth [his] conversation [aright] will I shew the salvation of God.
I Thes.5:17-19 - Pray without ceasing. (18) In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (19) Quench not the Spirit.
However, we must not forget -
I Cor.8:1 - Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
I Cor.13:2, 4, 8, & 13 - And though I (Paul) have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. (4) Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaulteth not itself, (or, is not rash), is not puffed up, (8) Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away. (13) And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greastest of these [is] charity.
I Cor.14:1 - Follow after charity, and desire spiritual [gifts,] but rather that ye may prophesy.
Now let us focus on what charity means according to God -
charity #26 - NT - from #25 - AV - love, charity, dear, charitable +2596, feast of charity; 1) brotherly love, affection, good will, love, benevolence
from #25 - perhaps from agan (much) [or cf 5368] - AV - love, beloved; 1) of persons; 1a) to welcome, to entertain, to be fond of, to love dearly
charity - I Cor.14:1
Lev.19:18 - Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I [am] the LORD.
If you are following the LORD Jesus Christ- he is the head of the church, therefore, he is the head of you and me, and when Jesus returns, he will be KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS - See - Eph.5:23; Rev.1:6; Rev.5:10 and Rev.19:16 - Also see - Temples of God--Churches
Now let me continue with charity - I Cor.14:1
Matt.22:39 - And second (great commandment) [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. - See - The Great Commandments
Rom.13:8-10 - Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. (9) For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if [there be] any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (10) Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love [is] the fulfilling of the law.
love - #26 - NT - from #25 - AV - love, charity, dear, charitable +2596, feast of charity - 1) brotherly love, affection, good will, love, benevolence, 2) love feasts
from #25 - NT - perhaps from agan (much) [or cf 5368] - AV - love, beloved - 1) of persons; 1a) to welcome, to entertain, to be fond of, to love dearly; 2) of things; 2a) to be well pleased, to be contented at or with a thing
From the definition above, the word "love," in this instance is a "brotherly love, affection, good will, benevolence," it is a love of people or persons, to welcome, to entertain, to be fond of, to love dearly." It is not a sexual love.
Gal.5:14 - For all the law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Eph.5:2 - And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us as offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. - See - Baptize, Faith, Salvation, Dead and Death, for the definition of "sweetsmelling savour" - it is near the bottom of the document.
Col.3:14 - And above all these things [put on] charity, which is the bond of perfection. - See - Rom.13:8-10 above again.
put on charity #26 - NT - Please note that the number for the word "charity" is the same as for the word "love," in Rom.13:8-10
I Tim.1:5 - Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, (or, mind), and [of] a good conscience, and [of] faith unfeigned:
James 2:8 - If ye filfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well
walk in love - Eph.5:2
John 13:34 - A new commandment I (Jesus) give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. - See - Lev.19:18; Eph.5:2; James 2:8 - above again.
I John 4:21 - And this commandment have we from him, (Jesus), That he who loveth God love his brother also.
This does not mean to love in a lustful way. Please see the definition above, for the word "love".
out of a pure heart - I Time.1:15
II Tim.2:22 - Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
To God, charity is, to love thy neighbour as thyself -- to walk in love, as Christ also loved us, and offered himself - Eph.5:2, for our sins; if we fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, then, we should love thy neighbour as thyself - I Tim.1:5, and he who loveth God love his brother also, I John 4:21, but do not forget to do good and to communicate, for these sacrifices God is well please with also - Heb.13:16
So tithing is the giving of your time to offer praise and thanks to the Lord every day and spreading the word to others, and charity, is to love thy neighbour as thyself. You could even say that you are tithing to God when you work on striving to do the "fruits of the Spirit," and to overcome the works of the flesh. - See - Commandment to Work
Let us take a look at Luke 20 -
The chief priest and the scribes are trying to find ways of laying hands (or capturing) Jesus, to bring him before the governor because they are afraid that the Parable of the Vineyard which he told the people was really against them (the chief priest and scribes.) So they ask Jesus a trick question - Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?, but Jesus perceives their craftiness and asked why they tempt him and says, Shew me a penny, then he asks them whose image and superscription was on it, and they answered - Caesar's. - Luke 20:19-24
Luke 20:25 - And he (Jesus) said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's and unto God the things which be God's.
Now let us take a look at Romans chapter 13, it is talking about what belongs to God, and how we are to conduct ourselves.
Rom.13:1-10 - Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For There is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. (2) Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation (3) For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: (4) For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil. (5) Wherefore [ye] must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. (6) For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. (7) Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute [is due;] custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. (8) Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law (9) For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if [there be] any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (10) Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love [is] the fulfilling of the law.
Please finish reading the chapter for yourself. Also see Sword of the Spirit--Word of God; Ten Commandments; The Two Great Commandments; and Temples of God--Churches.
Now let me go back and explain some of the phrases.
be subject unto the higher powers - Rom.13:1
I Cor.7:21-22 - Art thou called [being] a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use [it] rather. (22) For he that is called in the Lord, [being] a servant, is the Lord's freeman: (or, made free), likewise also he that is called, [being] free, is Christ's servant.
there is no power but of God: - Rom.13:1
Prov.8:15 - By me (the Lord), kings reign, and princes decree justice
Dan.2:21 - And he (God) changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
In this next verse, Jesus has already been captured by the soldiers and brought before Pilate, and Pilate says to Jesus - Speakest thou (Jesus) not unto me? knowest thou not that I (Pilate) have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee? - John 19:10
John 19:11 - Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power [at all[ against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.
In otherwords, he that condems a servant of the Lord, has the greatest sin, however, the servant must be teaching the following that which is written in the Bible and not teaching man's laws, traditions and philosophies. Read Col.2:8 for yourself.
[ye] must needs be subject - Rom.13:4
Eccl.8:1-2 & 5 - Who [is] as the wise [man?} and who knoweth the interpretation of the thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness (or, strength) of his face shall be changed. (2) I (Ecclesiasles, the preacher) [counsel thee] to keep the king's commandment, and [that] in regard of the oath of God. (5) Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel (or, know) no evil thing: and a wise man's heart (or, mind) discerneth both time and judgment.
Jesus is KING OF KINGS - Rev.17:14
therefore to all their dues: - Rom.13:7
Luke 20:25 - And he (Jesus) said unto them, (the chief priest and scribes), Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's
What we are to give to God, is our time, love, and praise in the form of praying, giving thanks, and praise several times a day, beginning when you first wake up.
Rom.16:17-18 - Now I (Paul) beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (18) For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly: and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts (or, minds) of the simple.
Study the King James Bible for yourself, so that you will be less likely to be deceived.
Phil.3:14-21 - Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, [my] dearly beloved. (4) Rejoice in the Lord always: [and] again I (Paul) say, Rejoice. (5) Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord [is] at hand. (6) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
So tithing is - the giving of your time to offer praise and thanks to the Lord every day, several times a day, and spreading the word to others, and charity is - to love thy neighbour as thyself. - See - Temples of God-Churches; Mission of the Disciples; Commandment to Work
While there is nothing wrong with donating money to worthy causes to help others as this would be a form of charity, (I do this myself all the time,) but do not think that the money you tithe to the church organization will buy your way into heaven - no - you have to repent of your evil ways, work for the Lord, and keep the commandments of God - all of them, as well as love thy neighbour as thyself - and by making your conversation right with the Lord and offering praise to the him, then, will God give, or grant you salvation, (deliverance or safety).
REMEMBER - We are told in Rev.18:4-5 ...Come our of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. (5) For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. - See - Four Sore Judgments
"Her sins," is referring to the mainstream religions today and the ways of the world. Remember, God did not change the Sabboth Day. Do not be a partaker of the sins of this world, and there are many, and do not be deceived - study the King James Bible for yourself.

This document is meant to help you understand your Bible more easily, however, it may not give you all the answers, you will need to study your Bible as well as read other documents, but let no one deceive you, prove all things; hold fast that which is good, because, ultimately, you, are responsible for your own salvation.
Let us end this Bible study with a prayer - O God thy heavenly Father, please help me to be a better person each day, to follow the commandments and the fruits of the Spirit, help me to strive each day to be more in thy presence, in Jesus name I ask. Amen.
