We have been raising Miniature Donkeys for 20 years, and have over 45 years experience with equines.  Having been the Ontario Regional Representative for the Canadian Donkey and Mule Association for 10 years, I have heard and seen just about everything about equines.

 

We have a select herd of Miniature Donkeys, ten plus breeding jennets and two jacks.  All of our donkeys are registered with the Canadian Donkey and Mule Association (CDMA) and several are registered with Miniature Donkey Registration (MDR) in the United States as many of the donkeys were purchased in the USA.  We breed quality donkeys and our herd is very select and was chosen very carefully.  We breed for the best in disposition, confirmation and colour.

Our herdsires are: Kimbrae Harris Tweed, 34” light brown with dark points and Nancyvon’s Dallas, 34” white with dark brown markings.

 

The foals are sold to a select few.  In 2004, the Metro Toronto Zoo purchased Nancyvon’s Stirling.  Stirling was shown at many shows and exhibitions before being sold, he could be driven as well.  We have sold donkeys all over America from Nova Scotia to Florida.

 

Our jennets are not bred every year.  We do not believe in breeding in foal heat, we believe in quality not quantity.  The foals are handled from birth; halter trained, good with farrier and registered.

 

Our donkeys are exhibited at shows, farm shows, fairs, church activities as well as many parades over the years.  We also have many visitors to our farm from all over America and some from Europe.  I have had people call me for donkey information and help from as far away as England.

 

Miniature donkeys are intelligent and docile, therefore easily trained.  There is a saying “horses look at you, but donkeys see through you, right into your soul.”
