Churchill Meadows Applications
The City, school boards and developers have reached an agreement for a phased construction of this planning district. As soon as I the details can be released I will post them here. The agreement is a good one as it provides for a controlled development of the community based on schools being built in a timely way. I am very pleased that this has been possible to achieve and will result in a well planned community for Ward 9.
Erin Mills Town Centre - Regional Centre Lands
The Steering Committee continues to meet to discuss the residential use of the lands. All of the retail and office uses have been approved following extensive discussion with the public.
These lands are designated for a variety of uses in the Central Erin Mills Secondary Plan. These include high density residential, retail, office, commercial, recreation, entertainment. Present uses include the Erin Mills Town Centre on the lands east of Glen Erin Drive. West of Glen Erin Drive, there is an approved Revy home hardware store at Winston Churchill/ Eglinton and the Central Erin Mills Community Centre/Catholic High school complex on the southwest corner of Glen Erin Drive and Erin centre Blvd. This facility is now under construction for opening in June, 2001.
