Innocent
words, beautiful children, transparent direction, unexpected results: these
are the elements of (Hate) Machine,
a short film that explores the process of creating media. Produced in
reaction to media influenced xenophobia, (Hate)
Machine cleverly explores harmless raw footage and the extraordinary
messages it can contain. With our society’s growing reliance on mediated
second-hand information, this thoughtful and affecting film underscores the importance of
media literacy.
