MODEL SR256 SERIAL RECORDER AS GPS DATA LOGGER
For NMEA Recording
Model SR256 records all NMEA data from
GPS receivers. It has extraordinary
large memory capacity that can afford
to record all the data bytes in NMEA sentences
without filtering or suppressing data.
That means position, date, time, and
altitude/barometer and other data
can all be recorded at maximum resolution.
Because of the 256 MegaByte capacity,
you can record multiple NMEA sentences
at the NMEA rate, (eg. every 2 seconds)
for high resolution tracking as adequate
memory space should not be a problem.
Estimation of tracking capacity:
256 Million byte memory divided by
100 bytes per NMEA sentence =2.5 million sentences.
Set your GPS receiver to output NMEA protocol, this will usually yield much greater arcminute resolution
than your GPS track logger, possibly ten times more resolution.
Works with any NMEA capable device; GPS, wind instruments, depth, radar, etc.
