Certainly the most unusual group to play the INTERPROV festival is the Nihilist Spasm Band. These Canadian noisemakers have been making their own instruments and playing their own unique form of music with them since the 60s. They are a group whose influence greatly exceeds their fame. Their fans include Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth who attends their gigs whenever possible presumably to pick up pointers. The Nihilist Spasm Band will play a late show at Mohawk Place beginning around 10:30 p.m. on Friday May 15.
