About Us

Mike & I have been involved in dogs for about 15 years.  About 8 years ago, I discovered the wonderful world of Agility.  I started actively competing with my mixed breed dog Baxter and the rest is history.  We are actively involved with the Agility World where my husband Mike is a Master level judge in the Agility Association of Canada (AAC) and an Excellent level judge with the CKC. We were looking to add a new member to our doggie family when I met Susan Buttivant of Chaparral Kennels and immediately fell in love with her wonderful little dogs.  About 6 months later we brought home our first Pyr Shep "Chaparral's Academy Performance" aka "Oscar"  Oscar is fawn with a black overlay smooth face.  He has had two excellent ratings under European Judges Jacque Deny and Guy Mansencal.  He also took "Best in Show" Altered dogs at the North American Pyrenean Shepherd Specialty in 2002 at only 14 months old. We have now been competing in Agility for about three years and he is showing much promise.  Next we added Chaparral's Cassonade to our family.  She is Mike' s girl through and through.  Cassie is a lovely fawn girl who is doing wonderfully in the competition arena.  She has also been competing for about three years.  Our next addition was Luron Bleu de la Vallee du Mouton.  I traveled to Austria to the home of Christian and Monika Janes to add this lovely boy to our home.  He has recently earned his Canadian Championship and is currently training for both agility and herding.  Luron is a blue merle smooth face.  Our more recent additions to our doggy family are Valdazun's Mischief Maker "Loki"Loki is a fabulous blue merle dog who is extremely athletic.  He is taking the Disc Dog world by storm, consistently taking the top prizes and he is only 18 months old. He will start his agility career in 2007.   Our next boy is Valdazun's Pure Oxygen "Tu"Tu is a fawn rough and is a natural in the herding ring. We are working on fine tuning his herding skills and he has earned his HIC at 6 months of age.    This past April I traveled to France where I was honoured to bring home Belle de Nuit Noir de la Rosselle"Bella" is a gorgeous black smooth face and has made a great addition to our family.   We feel it is very important for all of our dogs to be able to "work" whether it be herding, agility or any number of dog sports.  All of our dogs have natural ears and tails.  We strive to meet the French Standards for conformation and make every attempt to show our dogs at every specialty.  We have very limited litters, but please feel free to contact us.  We are always happy to talk about our wonderful little dogs.
