NORTHERN EDGE ALGONQUIN DRUM-MAKING AND WILD-CRAFTING TRIP WITH INSTRUCTORS ALLAN THOMAS AND HIS WIFE LUCY (Hi Guy's!, send info!!) PARTICIPANTS MADE 14 inch, laminated Maple frame hoop drums with cowhide heads and Ash handled beaters and rattles. We also participated in a number of "wild-crafting" activities AND were introduced to "Shamanism". |

IN SEPTEMBER OF 2003 OTTAWA, ONTARIO HOSTED A WORLD RECORD CHALLENGE TO ATTEMPT TO BEAT ISTANBUL, TURKEYS' GUINNESS BOOK OF RECORDS MARK FOR THE MOST HAND DRUMMERS DRUMMING A COMMISSIONED PIECE AT THE SAME TIME IN THE SAME PLACE. THIS WAS IN AID OF WAR TORN CHILDREN. MY NEW FRIEND MR. DEBEERS WROTE THAT PARTICULAR PIECE. |
NOTE! FOR THE 1,209 OF YOU WHO DIDN'T BOTHER TO TRY TO HELP SET THE RECORD AND ESPECIALLY TO HELP THESE CHILDREN, WE ARE REALLY PISSED AT YOU! THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NEXT YEAR AND WE DID ESTABLISH A LARGEST CANADIAN DRUM CIRCLE RECORD!  My gratitude to Larry, Judy and Family! |
