Patrick Clark designed a revolve stage that turned to expose each room in the house as the characters moved about. I had some trouble learning to roll that wheelchair on a moving stage down narrow hallways and through doorways, but the effect was fascinating to the audience, like watching a long dolly shot on film. One of the great stage tricks of all time? To simulate her neck being broken, Deborah had a plastic cup concealed under the bedclothes that she crushed when I twisted her head. The sound was truly gruesome....
