This Teamwork Skills Evaluation
Matrix™ should be used by the team when they meet. The agenda should
allow time at the end of the meeting to go over the matrix and record a group
evaluation of the team's performance during the meeting. This facilitates the
focus on what areas need improvement and which demonstrate strengths. The
meeting leader should lead this exercise. As objectively as possible, every team member will
rate the following people skills to establish the team's and his/her own
progress toward teamwork. A "1" rating applies to a minimal skill
and a "6" rating applies to excellent skills. Use a circle to rate
the TEAM SCORE and a square to rate YOUR SCORE. Discuss results with the
team. Choose one of the skills as an area of improvement for the coming week.
Review performance every week and select another skill only when the whole
team is satisfied that the skill being practiced has been raised to a
collective 5.
