It was with great sadness that I had to let Fannie go April 20, following a sudden bout with cancer.
Fannie moved into my home and heart Oct 2004. She quickly became a strong light in my life. All dogs come into our lives to fill a purpose, we often do not know until they are gone what spot they filled, whether it is a heart dog (Pixie, Casey), a buddy (Bob), a soul mate (Una) or a light dog (Fannie). I did know and acknowledge that Fannie brought light into my life when it was at a dark spot. She guided me through difficult times, always with a toy in her mouth to show off, not to share.... Fannie's great loves included swimming in our pool, she was wet more than she was dry over the summer months, she loved to show, and she loved her food... She would eat her bowl of food in about 10 seconds, then wonder what else she could eat... She was always right at my side, in fact, she would be happiest when she was standing on top of me on the couch.
Fannie and I were looking forward to the upcoming year. Fannie was getting ready to hit the Junior Handling ring with her favourite kids, Brandon and Robin. She had been working with both of them training them to be patient and persistent in getting her to do what they wanted. She loved every minute spent with them practicing being a good little show dog. Fannie lived to play with kids, her favourite game with Brandon would be pinning him to the ground licking his face while he giggled, she would follow him around by the hour... I think they both enjoyed it.
Fannie's bright light will never be extinguished as long as she remains in my heart and memories, but is definitely dimmer. I am so very honoured to have had her in my life, although the time spent with her here was cut way too short.

Fannie joined the Pintado family in Oct 2004. Thank you to Mark Leitzan and Nicole Bokman of Silver Screen Aussies for allowing Fannie to come live with me, and to share in Sue's dreams for this very special girl.
Fannie finished her AKC Ch in June 2004, going BOB over top ranked AKC specials. Fannie finished her CKC in Dec 2004, going BOB over top ranked CKC specials.
