Understanding Imaginaries Through
Hidden Numbers |
|
This is an essay I wrote describing how I
arrived independently at the concept of hypercomplex numbers, merely by
thinking about the nature of concepts and mathematics. |

“This 38-page essay presents new ideas on the origin of numbers in the individual human mind and on the connection of imaginary, complex, and hypercomplex numbers to reality. The author was able, using Ayn Rand's epistemology, to rediscover on his own (without any prior knowledge of them) hypercomplex numbers, in a form that implies that an already-known class of hypercomplex numbers has special significance and importance. (The essay includes 22 small diagrams, which take up about 2 pages in total.)” |
