James Shenton appears in the 1898 Electoral Register at the Royal Hotel, Church Walks, Llandudno - he is also in the list for 1902, but not afterwards. The Royal Hotel does not appear in the Electoral Registers for 1903, 1904 or 1907.
It would appear that the family arrived in Llandudno circa 1898 but had left by 1903. (Source: Gwynedd Archives.)
Where the family went is not known, although it is possible he took over at the Hanbury Hotel, Griffithstown, Monmouthshire from his sister-in-law Martha Shenton [Source: Gwent Archives].
