This 3 bedroom waterfront cottage is beautifully located in a stand of birch trees on the shores of Miller Lake on the Bruce Peninsula.
The cottage has a mostly stone exterior, a wrap around two level deck with a beautiful view of the lake. It is well set back from the road, is private on both sides and has a lovely grass lawn with gardens facing the waterfront. Natural stone walkways are located all over the property.
Use of the garage is not included in the rental.
The large kitchen has a post and beam ceiling with rustic charm including in-laid stone on pine floor, stone wainscoting and a patio door leading onto the deck.
The kitchen is well equipped with newer appliances, including microwave and dishwasher. Plenty of counter and cupboard space as well as a pantry is provided. The dining area contains a seating arrangement for six,
but will accommodate up to 8 persons.
The living room area has a combination of pine paneling and stone wainscoting, a beam ceiling and many windows.
The airtight woodstove is not to be used for insurance reasons. There is also a
32" TV, VCR, DVD, satellite receiver (with ExpressVu) and stereo.
There is one main floor bedroom with
newer bunk beds, two loft style bedrooms; one with a queen bed and walkout balcony facing the beach and sunset, and one with a queen and a twin bed. There is also a newer sofa bed in the living room.
Adjacent to the 3 1/2 piece bathroom at the cottage main entrance is a washer and dryer.
There is a beach bunky mostly for storing water and beach toys. A large, 50 foot, two level dock can be used to tie up your boat (3 to 4 foot depth at end of dock) or just to sit and relax. The water front is a combination of sandy beach and loose rock/ledge. The water entry is gradual with a sand and ledge bottom which is suitable for children. It does not drop off quickly, and yet if you want to swim the water does get deep.
The dock is fine for a smaller motor boat, but watch for submerged rocks on the way in and out. Miller Lake is a relatively quiet lake so you can usually safely tie up on the dock over night.
A launch facility is located directly across the lake at Summerhouse Camp.
They also have a convenience store and cafe.
