Form And Structure

Sharon H. Nelson

"Form And Structure" opens the "Profanities" section of Grasping Men's Metaphors and sets its tone.

Form And Structure

Poets claim we must be young and fey
And preferably glamorous,
Lest we offend their sensibilities
When we do something amorous.

The fallen breast, the double chin
Are not the stuff of poems.
At least we should be rich and thin
Who ought to kneel below them.
