STRIKE ZONE Muskie Charters        STRIKE  ZONE  Muskie  Charters

CHARTER INFORMATION AND RATES

While Lake Scugog may be the closest muskie waters to the Greater Toronto metropolitan area, its
heavily stained waters, coupled with an average depth of only 4.75 feet, and thick weeds, make it the
toughest lake in the Kawartha Lakes chain for anglers to consistently catch muskies.   The traditional
"Canadian Shield" rock-based structure found on other lakes is simply not present here.  The muskies
of Lake Scugog behave quite differently from their neighbours on other nearby lakes, making them a
far more elusive quarry for both beginner and veteran muskie anglers.

Lake Scugog harbours a very high density of muskies, and of an average size much bigger than
most of the other Kawartha Lakes.  Although muskies over 48" are extremely rare on this lake, an
average sized muskie ranges from 38 to 40 inches, well above the 36 inch "Legal limit", which is
significantly larger than the average muskie you'll encounter on most other Kawartha Lakes.  Good
numbers of fish in the 40 to 44 inch range are possible if you know where and how to present a bait.

A 45 inch plus muskie on Lake Scugog is a true trophy; it's age actually matching or surpassing that
required for a muskie to attain 50 inch size on any of the "trophy waters" in Ontario, such as Georgian
Bay, the St Lawrence River, the Ottawa River, Lake Ontario, the Niagara River, or Lake St. Clair.

An "AVERAGE" full day charter on Lake Scugog [these statistics have been compiled over the past
seven (7) charter seasons] will see you and your party of anglers contact four (4) muskies and boat up to
three (3) of these striking fish.

STRIKE ZONE operates out of Goreski's Marina & Resort on beautiful Lake Scugog, located about
1 hour north of Toronto, on the western shoreline of Scugog Island, near the beautiful town of Port Perry.
