Glossary
The meanings for words are often unclear or hotly contested; a language that is dynamic is also open to manipulation. The power struggles of our society usually turn around controlling the terms of the debate. Here is an ongoing exploration of some of those terms, the ways they are being managed, and the interests that are served by when people in power remake language in their own image. We need to be clear on what we mean by the words we use, what others mean by the words they use, and, most critically, what people want you to think they mean by the words they use.
