| The Desk & Chair | |
Ironically, at this time we have been unable to find out the manufacturer of the Kingpin's desk or desk chair, despite all of our efforts to track them down. We are still waiting from a response from 20th Century Fox on those pieces. However, we can tell you about a few things on that desk. |
| The Pencil Sharpener | |
Probably Bullseye's favourite accessory, wouldn't you think? Also visible in the previous picture, this is a Hunt-Boston Mini StandUp battery-powered sharpener, viewable here. The odd thing is, the Kingpin's seems to have a grey/brushed aluminum finish on it, but the only retail-available finish is black. Perhaps there was some pencil sharpener customization occurring here? |
| The Phone | |
Yes, I know the image is the same as the one for the pencil sharpener, but that's just because it happens to be the best view of the phone as well. This is a PolyCom VoiceStation 100 conference telephone, viewable here. It retails for $US 299.99, but you can buy it on Amazon.com for 22% off this price. |
| The Pen Holder | |
This was actually the easiest thing to find which I didn't already know from the outset; all I did was run a Google search for "crystal pen holder" and there it was. An Orrefors "Puck"-series crystal pen holder, viewable (and purchasable) here. You can also go to the Orrefors web site and click on Products > The Collection > Puck. |
I have found some items which are similar to the Kingpin's, but yet I'm fairly certain that they're not exactly what he has. More specifically, things like the Nambé "Spector" Crystal Vase and the Waterford "Spire" Crystal Bowl. Why am I hesitant to declare these two items "The Kingpin's Own"? Well, the bowl on his desk is not as tall as the Waterford bowl - it's more squat, you might say. And you see how the stem of the rose in his vase goes right down to the bottom, almost until it's touching the desk? The Nambé vase has a fairly thick bottom on it, which means you would not achieve that look using that vase. As for the lighter, I am pretty sure it's a Colibri. There is another scene in the movie where he is lighting his cigar, which I don't have in .mov form, so I cannot be certain of what specific model at this time. However, I can tell you a few things about:
| The Bar | |
Well, really I can only tell you about the alcohol in said bar. Here we see two bottles on the left of the bar. The one furthest to the left is Hennessy XO cognac, and the one on the right is Tanqueray No. 10 gin. These two I knew just by looking at them. Alcoholic much? As for glassware, it would be impossible to tell, just by looking at them, what sort of glasses/ice buckets/cocktails shakers the Kingpin has. This clip is just not of sufficient quality. Of course I should be able to make some more calls once the DVD comes out. |
Also, if you look to the right side of the previous picture, just to the left of the Kingpin himself, you'll see a round bottle of something brown. It is visible more clearly in the picture to the left, between the Kingpin's cane and his leg. From this picture, I can only conclude that this is an unopened bottle of Rémy Martin Louis XIII cognac, without the fleur-de-lis-shaped stopper in place. |
