In the recent past, issues relating to the Homeless, the near Homeless, and those who help the Homeless are gaining more and more attention. We think deservedly so. It is the expectation of the Consolidation for Social Awareness and Responsibility (CSAR) that the more quality attention such issues receive, the more hope there is for comprehensive solutions. It is also the expectation of CSAR that certain issues have merits which automatically raise them above all conventional operational distinctions (vocation, geography, politics, race, religion, colour, ethnicity etc.) and that Homelessness is one of them.
Canadians have an established record for creative solutions with respect to their challenges - many of which have evolved to be useful to the global community. CSAR expects that Homelessness is another such opportunity. We are not simply interested in providing short-term “handouts” for the less fortunate. We would strive to also support authentically motivated remedial research/measures - not just a hand out but a hand up.
Recently, you, along with Prime Minister Chretien, Mayor Mel Lastman,
and others have given this issue some increasingly encouraging press. Surely
your influence and access to resources of time, treasures, and talent (
individually and collectively ) will help make a lasting difference. CSAR
thanks you for your supportive comments and efforts on this selfless issue.
