New and Innovative Service for Prospective Dog Owners
Uplander is offering a new and innovative service that has evolved with the needs and wishes of the consumer today. This change parallels our fast paced way of living. All too often, a prospective puppy buyer goes into the venture with visions of a wonderful companion and flawless field dog. The training is to be done by him or herself. While the intentions are sincere, they are more frequently dissipated by either family, work, other interests or a combination there-in. We all know just how fast paced our lifestyles have become, especially if you have children in sports!
More and more today, I find that people purchase their pup only to find that time, as they say, flies. Pup has grown rather quickly yet the anticipated investment in time and money for training has been......elusive. The most important point I would like to make here is that pups are like sponges when it comes to learning things. All-too-often, the person I have described above has missed so many of a pup’s learning opportunities that the methods used to ingrain them later on are far less palatable for the trainer AND for the dog! Had this pup’s early training been a more natural progression, he would ideally walk through each ensuing lesson happily, progressively, without the negative impact that will be made if pup misses out on these formative learning windows.
To be honest, what I am offering here is an opportunity that addresses both the new puppy owner AND puppy! I offer this service because I have seen the less-than-palatable alternatives far too many times!
Coupled with this process, I would avail my 30+ years as a trainer/handler, breeder, judge, and hunter to help you in deciding which breed of dog would best suit your needs AND which breeders are producing the best type of dogs to accommodate that specific need. Subsequently, I would develop the pup of your choice to the extent that YOU choose – be it a started dog, well-started dog, or finished dog.
Just as importantly, because pups much like people are individuals, this process provides you with a way of seeing your investment in puppy growing steadily along the way.
This concept also provides the customer with a way of spreading this investment in pup over time. Typically, the initial cost is in acquiring your pup (this is the inexpensive part). Subsequently, your investment in diet, maintenance, training, etc. is made to the extent that YOU choose. Should you want additional training, you will have preferred service here because of your initial investment with Uplander kennels.
In the end, you have the pup of your choice - one that is a wonderful companion as well as a productive working dog!
My experience has proven that getting a "deal" on a pup that, in time, ends up disappointing you can be a very difficult and costly realization. The resulting decision can be devastating especially when a young family is involved! I also ask that you consider the dog itself in the situation I have just described. I have witnessed far too many dogs that end up repeat orphans, in rescue environments or simply given up because they became a nightmare to live with. Don’t do this to you and your family! Don’t do this to our dogs!
If you have ANY questions, feel free to ask.
Put my experience to work for you. It may be one of the best decisions you make for you, your family, your hunting buddies, and your new pup!
In summary, what are the advantages?
- You get to utilize my experience in the initial selection of your pup. This can save you many dollars and headaches from the get-go!
- You get to utilize my experience and the counsel of a professional trainer that has dedicated many years in the business.
- You get to see your pup progressing and have input in how much and how long the process takes. In-other-words, you can take pup home at anytime for a spell without impacting the training what-so-ever! In fact, I encourage this.
- You significantly increase the odds of getting exactly what you wanted. When you consider the alternative to this statement, you realize that the time and money you invest in the WRONG dog can be very costly as well as a personal nightmare!
- You truly enjoy those moments you dedicate to your days afield.
Is there a downside?
- Yes....this process takes time. Obviously, you can’t pick out an 8 week old pup today and take him hunting the following weekend! You have to plan this but believe me....it’s worth it!
Another aspect of my business addresses this concern, in that I offer dogs that are already started or well-started dogs of various breeds/ages on occasion. Although this can limit the selection of breed depending on what I have "in-house", it means that you "see what you get", now! In most cases, it means you can take your new started dog hunting this next weekend (where laws/regulations, game seasons and/or hunt clubs permit).
My many years in this business have proven that it’s worth the time/investment up front to get a working companion that will conceivably be a wonderful part of your life for many many years to come.
