Guidelines for Submissions

Vox Feminarum is a journal of feminist spirituality committedto providing a forum for women to speak and be heard. In fulfilling itsmission to stimulate dialogue, it promotes exchange among women of variedreligious and personal contexts, invites a feminist critique of socialand ecclesial structures, and encourages women to explore the relationshipsbetween their faith traditions, feminism, spirituality and personal experience.

Contributions of in-depth articles, spiritual autobiographies, poetry, personal stories, book/media reviews, photographs, visual art, short stories, etc. are welcome for the following issues:

Proposals should include:

a statement of the proposed theme and intended approach;
an indication of your preference for the length of the piece
(generally not exceeding 2,000 words for articles/750 words for other works);
a sample of your writing; and,
a brief biographical statement.

Creative pieces should be submitted for consideration by the proposal deadline.

Unsolicited materials should be accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope. All proposals should be include detailed information regarding when and how you can be contacted.

Please note: no final decisions will be made until after the submission deadline, and all proposals will be held until then. You will be contacted immediately if we wish to consider a finished piece.

Submissions should be in hard copy, typed and double-spaced. We will arrange for electronic copies (where available) of manuscripts which are accepted for publication.

Please note: Vox Feminarum is not in a position to pay any contributors. Also, while we are proud of the quality of our publication and the strength of the pieces which we publish, we are not a refereed, scholarly journal.
