Curling Team

The Curling Team of skip Chris Daw, lead Sonja Gaudet, second Gary Cormack, third Gerry Austgarden, and alternate Karen Blachford, brought home the inaugural Paralympic curling gold medal by winning key matches. After besting Norway 5-4 in their semi-final game, the Canadians met Great Britain for the gold medal in a tense see saw battle. With Great Britain up 5-4, Daw played a great shot with his last stone of the fifth end to count three and take a 6-4 lead. In the final end, the British skip had a rare miss, allowing Canada to steal one and the gold medal along with it.
